PORTLAND — The Mitchell Institute, a Maine-based nonprofit scholarship and research organization founded by Sen. George J. Mitchell to improve college outcomes for students from every community in Maine, recently announced its 2024 cohort of Mitchell Scholars.
The 184 recipients of the Mitchell Scholarship, representing public high schools statewide, will each receive a $10,000 scholarship, as well as ongoing leadership and professional development programming and supplemental funding opportunities for activities related to career development, according to a news release from Marc Glass with the institute.
The following Androscoggin County high school graduates have been named 2024 Mitchell Scholars:
Gabrielle Duplissis, Edward Little High School;
Gabriel Durazo, Leavitt Area High School;
Aleyeh Mussa, Lewiston High School;
Nhi Nguyen, Oak Hill High School;
Regina Pasi, Lewiston High School;
Gabrielle Turner, Lisbon High School;
Joseph Uo, Lewiston High School; and
Brycin Vachon, Poland Regional High School.
