AUBURN – Denise Adela Dubois, 72, of Auburn, beloved wife, mother and best-ever mémère, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1952, daughter of the late Philibert and Marie-Rose (Ferland) Dubois. Denise was educated at St. Peter’s School, graduated from St. Dominic’s in 1970 and married Norman Dubois in 1971. Together, she and Norman worked in the family business, Dubois Furniture, and also enjoyed many years of candlepin bowling, pool and bumper pool in local leagues. Denise managed the Hurricane Club and operated the bingo kitchens at the Cavalier Club and later, Loaves & Fishes.
Her life was one of kindness and service; she was often seen in the kitchen cooking for family. She loved hosting the Dubois family Christmas party every year. She had a superb sense of humor, delivering witty one-liners, and always a clever prankster. One of the greatest joys in her life, however, was spending time with her granddaughters, who adored her beyond compare.
Surviving Denise are her two loving sons, Paul and wife Katie of Turner, Marcel and wife CarlaRose of Paris; six beautiful granddaughters, Addison, Isla, Quinn and Pietà, Amadea and Cosima; three siblings, Georges-Henri and wife Terese Dubois of Chelmsford, Mass., Monique (Sr. Monica, O.P.) Dubois of Klagetoh, Ariz., and Denis and wife Dorothy Dubois of Lewiston, brother-in-law, Ronald Dubois of Lewiston, and sisters-in-law Monique (Asselin) Dubois of Morgan Hill, Calif. and Ethel (Costa) Dubois, of Lewiston; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Philibert and Marie-Rose; husband, Norman; brothers Marcel Dubois and Normand Dubois, sisters-in-law Rejeanne (Bernier) Dubois and Jeannine (Saucier) Dubois; parents-in-law Albert and Florida (Nolin) Dubois.
