CANTON — The Lake Anasagunticook Association is set to hold its annual Lake Days celebration at the Canton Boat Launch, 7 Staples Hill Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.
Additionally, kayak races and “blindfold” canoe races will be held on the Canton Beach beginning at 9:45 a.m., and there will be an open swim on Hartford Beach from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Admission is free, and the celebration will be held rain or shine.
The emcee will be LAA member Katie Kirwan. People can buy lunch from the Boondocks Farm Food Truck or bring their own picnic lunch and beverages. There will be free ice cream, watermelon and bottled water, as well as a slip-n-slide (for kids), a cake walk, and Bingo. Raffle tickets will be for sale.
Kayakers are asked to bring their kayak. Canoes and blindfolds will be provided for the blindfold canoe races. Everyone must wear a life vest to participate.
Those want to swim can meet the trust at Hartford Beach on Thompson Lane (off Church Street) from 8:30 to 11 a.m. There will be free coffee and donuts.
