Why vote to reelect Rep. Laurel Libby to the Maine House?
We’ve seen unprecedented disruption in our governmental leadership in the last few years, and in the last few weeks. This past spring Maine’s legislative leadership was holding votes at 3 a.m. Some Maine papers and social media are full of comments where Maine people are demonizing each other anonymously. A leading candidate for president was almost assassinated.
We need our leaders to be solid, reliable, and decisive: to know the difference between right and wrong (even more important than between right and left). We need them to tell us the truth and to help us to align behind it. And, if we can even ask for it, we’d like these leaders to be kind while still fierce.
Laurel Libby is this rare politician. That is why I will vote for her this fall.
