08/03/2024 0221hrs, Deputy Gray responded to a medical emergency on the Brahmer Road in New Vineyard. This turned out to be an unattended death which was not suspicious. The victim died of natural causes. Wiles Funeral home responded to the scene.
0907hrs, Deputy Gray and Deputy Wacome responded to a report of a domestic disturbance complaint at a residence on Tufts Pond Road in Kingfield. As a result of the investigation Thomas Bessey (59) of Kingfield was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault and transported to jail.
0950hrs, Deputy Clement received a business alarm at the New Sharon Town Office. This was a false alarm.
1004hrs, Deputy Wacome received a parking complaint at Bradbury’s Market in Carthage. The Town of Carthage was having its community day.
1034hrs, Deputy Wacome received a 911 call at a residence on Norcross Hill Road in Chesterville. This was an accidental dial.
1059hrs, Deputy Wacome received a 911 call at a residence on the Intervale Road in Temple. This was an accidental dial.
1125hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in a vehicle traveling on the Lexington Road in Kingfield. This turned out to be verbal only, no charges were filed.
1147hrs, Deputy Couture and K-9 Rahka responded to Wilton at the request of Wilton Police.
1355hrs, Deputy Wacome investigated a complaint regarding the possession of person property at a residence on Varnum Pond Road in Temple.
1512hrs, Deputy Clement received a missing person complaint from a residence on Amble Street in Phillips. The missing person was late returning from the Blueberry Festival in Wilton. Wilton Police located the person.
1614hrs, Deputy Brann responded to a truck vs. utility pole accident on the Pond Road in Strong. Clifford Frazier (62) of Farmington was driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra when he lost control, ran off the road striking a utility pole taking down the wires. CMP was called to the scene as well as Strong Fire Dept.
1739hrs, Deputy Clement received a 911 call at a residence on Kelly Road in Phillips. This was an accidental dial.
1834hrs, Deputy Clement responded to what turned out to be a civil issue regarding a right of way between neighbor camps on Arnold Trial in Chain of Ponds Twp.
2201hrs, Deputy Clement received a complaint of a vehicle racing up and down Saddleback Mountain Road in Dallas Plt.
2226hrs, Deputy Clement received a noise complaint at a residence on Barbara Lane in Sandy River Plt. The complainant lives in an association and was complaining about neighbors talking. No radios or loud music were playing. This was a civil homeowners association issue.
2327hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the complainant s driveway in Sandy River Plt. The vehicle was gone upon arrival.
08/04/2024 0848hrs, Deputy Wacome responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on Mile Hill Road in New Sharon. A male was driving a 2014 Buick southbound when he drove off the road to the right striking a utility pole. The vehicles tags were illegally attached, and the injured female passenger refused to cooperate and identify who the male was who walked away from the scene prior to law enforcement arriving. Sheriff Nichols checked the roads looking for the driver down to the town of Rome and back.
0948hrs, Deputy Gray investigated a threatening complaint at a residence on Reeds Mills Road in Madrid.
1022hrs, Deputy Morgan responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on the Pope Road in Chesterville. Jadon Callahan (18) of Chesterville was driving a 2016 Toyota southbound when he drove off the right side of the road striking a utility pole.
1229hrs, Deputy Gray received a request for a welfare check to be conducted on an elderly man walking around in heavy clothing on Toothaker Pond Road in Phillips. He was unable to locate the man.
1317hrs, Deputy Wacome investigated what turned out to be civil issue at a residence on Carthage Road in Carthage.
1613hrs, Deputy Elmes investigated a threatening complaint at a residence on the River Road in Phillips.
2154hrs, Sgt. Bean received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked at the complainant’s residence on the mercer Road in New Sharon.
08/05/2024 0039hrs, Border Patrol was alerted to a vehicle at a former boundary crossing in Lowelltown northern Franklin County. Agents located the vehicle and its driver on the 400 road and identified the driver as Larry Cole III of Tennessee (19) of Liberty Tennessee. They also confirmed that Cole was wanted out of the State of Tennessee for Criminal Attempted First Degree Murder. Once Border Patrol Agents delivered Cole to jail, Detective David Davol arrested him as a Fugitive from Justice.
0333hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint of road rage on the Industry Road in New Sharon.
0523hrs, Deputy Morgan responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on the Carthage Road in Carthage. No charges were initially filed, and the case is still under investigation.
0727hrs, Deputy Gray investigated a complaint of a man who flagged down a motorist on Route 16 in Dallas Plt. and wanted a ride because he thought the government was after him. The man was found by Border Patrol and held for Gray who then transported to Rangeley. The man was dropped off at the IGA in Rangeley.
0754hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence on Avon Valley Road in Avon. Sholan found the person to be checked, was physically okay but struggling with personal issues. Sholan provided information to seek help when the person was ready.
0853hrs, Deputy Gray received a complaint of a possible fake 20-dollar bill from a business in Kingfield.
1106hrs, Deputy Gray responded to a residential alarm on South Strong Road in Strong. This was a false alarm.
1254hrs, Deputy Morgan responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on the Dixfield Road in Weld. No crime was identified, however one of the participants was transported to FMH for a mental health evaluation.
1326hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint of a missing female teen from a residence on the Bailey Road in Industry. This is an ongoing issue.
1348hrs, Deputy Morgan received a complaint about an abandoned vehicle on Egypt Pond Road in Chesterville. This is the same vehicle that was involved in a burglary the previous week. The owner is filing theft charges against the individuals from the burglary.
1442hrs, Deputy Morgan responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on the Rangeley Road in Phillips. John Harvey (80) of Madrid was driving a 2012 Subaru when he drifted off the road to the right into a ditch.
1445hrs, Deputy Brann investigated a threatening complaint via text message at a residence on the Smith Road in New Sharon.
1821hrs, Deputy Elmes responded to a report of a tractor trailer vs. power lines on Main Street in Eustis. Daniel Way (58) of Colebrook NH was backing a 2020 Peterbilt tractor trailer in a driveway in an attempt to turn around and caught the wires bringing down the wires and the pole. Eustis Fire responded to the scene as well as CMP. DEP was also called regarding an oil spill.
1839hrs, Deputy Maccione received a complaint of a person who continues to drive in New Sharon with a suspended license.
2109hrs, Deputy Elmes received a 911 call on Jordan Lane in Rangeley Plt. The source of the call was not located.
2156hrs, Deputy Elmes arrested Wagner Soto-Perez (22) of Lynn Mass on a warrant after Border Patrol had stopped the man. Border Patrol translated for Deputy Elmes prior to being transported to jail.

1005hrs, Deputy Morgan investigated a theft complaint at a residence on the Rangeley Road in Phillips.
1504hrs, Deputy Elmes investigated a theft of tools from a residence on the Carrabassett Road in Coplin Pt.
1852hrs, Deputy Brann responded to a report of an assault that occurred between neighbors on the Vienna Road in Chesterville. As a result of the investigation Craig Bullen (47) of Chesterville was charged with Assault.
2204hrs, Deputy Couture & K-9 Rahka responded to a request for a k-9 by Wilton Police at a residence on Lake Road.
2244hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a report of suspicious activity on Birches Beach Road in Rangeley Plt.
2351hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a report of a Hyundai stopped in the middle of the road by Pines Market in Eustis. The operator was thought to be under the influence however investigation did not reveal that. The car was towed by Koob’s garage.
08/07/2024 0205hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a report of a suspicious incident at the Rangeley Townhouse Apartments in Rangeley. This turned out to be an intoxicated occupant of the apartment.
0614hrs, Deputy Frost received a complaint of a Ford F150 being driven erratically on the Starks Road in New Sharon.
0721hrs, Deputy Wacome investigated a burglary at a residence on South Shore Drive in Rangeley Plt.
0941hrs, Deputy Frost responded to a residence on the Dixfield Road in Weld to conduct a probation check. As a result of the check Jody Saultes (22) of Carthage was arrested on a Warrant at the residence and transported to jail.
1221hrs, Deputy Frost received a complaint from a woman on the Starks Road in New Sharon who had concerns about her husband. With the information he received, no crime was identified. Deputy Frost did reach out to safe voices who will be contacting the complainant.
1633hrs, Deputy Brann and Deputy Maccione responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on the New Sharon Road in Industry. No charges were filed at this time.
1935hrs, Deputy Clement responded to area of Cathedral Pines regarding a man who was waving at cars then waving at the woods while standing in the road. The man clearly had mental health issues but not enough of an issue to take him into protective custody. Deputies have had several contacts with this individual over the past week.
2149hrs, Deputy Brann responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a residence on Dodge Corner Road in New Vineyard.
08/08/2024 0037hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a disturbance call at the Spillover Motel in Coplin Plt. As a result of the investigation Burke O’Donnell (41) of Eustis was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule Drugs, two counts of Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule Drugs and Violation of Condition of Release. He was transported to jail.
0701hrs, Deputy Frost received a 911 call at the Mt. Blue State Campground in Weld. This was an accidental dial.
0721hrs, Deputy Wacome responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Salem Road in Freeman Twp. Josie Flores (43) of Salem Twp. was driving a 2009 Dodge Ram when the collision occurred.
0724hrs, Deputy Maccione responded to a medical complaint on Swan Road in New Sharon. A person there was transported to FMH for a mental health evaluation.
0823hrs, Deputy Wacome received a complaint of a disabled van on South Strong Road in Strong. The vehicle was gone upon arrival.
0909hrs, Deputy Maccione assisted a citizen by picking up needed items at a residence on the Dixfield Road in Weld and transported them to their owner who was currently at FMH.
1248hrs, Deputy Maccione received a theft/fraud complaint at a residence on Shadagee Road in Industry.
1530hrs, Deputy Wacome received an animal complaint on Mt. Blue Pond Road in Avon where the complainant alleges that a neighbor took their cat because it looked sickly. The local ACO was called to investigate.
1936hrs, Deputy Clement investigated a threatening complaint on Birches Beach Road in Rangeley Plt.
2000hrs, Deputy Couture received a complaint of a Ford Super duty pickup traveling north on Route 27 in New Vineyard being driven on the wrong side of the road. Sgt. Jonathan Parker of Farmington PD was closer to the area than Couture and was able to stop the vehicle. As a result of stop Michael Thomas (49) of Solon was arrested for Operating after being declared a Habitual Offender and was transported to jail. While in route, Couture learn that there were also several warrants for Thomas’s arrest.
2001hrs, Deputy Wacome responded to a car vs. deer accident on Spaulding Road in Strong. Jedidiah Zelie (22) of Freeman Twp. was driving a 2021 Toyota when the collision occurred.
2006hrs, Deputy Wacome received a welfare check request at a residence on Foster Hill Road in Freeman Twp. The check was the result of an intoxicated person at the residence, Wacome found the person sleeping, and the other parties in the residence did not want to wake him.
08/09/2024 1258hrs, Deputy Gray responded to a report of a car vs. deer accident on Main Street in Sandy River Plt. Spencer Drake (63) of Freeport was driving a 2016 Ford F-250 when the collision occurred.
1406hrs, Deputy Gray responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on Birches Beach Road in Rangeley Plt. The complaint was unfounded and is an ongoing issue with the complainant who hallucinates.
1435hrs, Deputy Gray received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence on School Street in Rangeley. The person to be checked was located and asked to contact family members.
1628hrs, Deputy Couture investigated a theft complaint at a residence on the Bemis Road in Rangeley Plt.
1749hrs, Deputy Couture received a complaint of a pickup truck going into the complainant’s driveway spinning tires on the Nichols Road in Dallas Plt.
1818hrs. Deputy Couture received a welfare check request on a person who had been in the Franklin County area for the past week who had mental health issues. He was unable to locate the person.
1821hrs, Deputy Maccione responded to a report of an unattended death at a residence on the Carthage Road in Carthage. The death did not appear to be suspicious in nature.
1840hrs, Sgt. Close responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on the Rangeley Road in Avon. Darlene Dipompo (63) of Jay was driving a 2017 Lexis when she drove off the road, became airborne for a distance landing in the ditch. The driver was transported to FMH to check on injuries. Bryans Auto Body removed the vehicle.
Deputies also conducted 2 elder checks, 28 building checks and responded to 6 false 911 calls.
