Unfortunately, the Lewiston-Auburn Balloon Festival didn’t launch as planned this morning. The first hot air balloon launch was scheduled for 6 a.m. Friday. But dense fog scuttled that plan.
Despite the nonlaunch of balloons, several balloons did inflate this morning. And they put on a show.

6 a.m. Balloon Launch — Simard Payne Park
Noon.–8 p.m. Artisan/Makers Fair and Trade Show — Hundreds of talented makers will feature crafted soaps, woodworking, crochet plush pals, candles, jewelry, artwork, handcrafted baskets, stained glass, pottery, embroidery, and so much more! Simard Payne Park
4 p.m.–10 p.m. Food Vendors — Simard Payne Park
4 p.m.–10 p.m. Carnival — Lincoln St. Lewiston, near Station Grille
5 p.m.–6:45 p.m. Live Music — Platz Associates Main Stage at Simard Payne Park
4:30 p.m.–5:45 p.m. Live Music: Rumor Has It — Rumor Has is is a band from Central/Southern Maine that plays a wide variety of music traversing decades and multiple genres. — Platz Associates Main Stage at Simard Payne Park
6 p.m. Balloon Launch — Simard Payne Park
6:45 p.m.–7:45 p.m. Live Music: The Girls of L ~ A — The Girls of L ~ A was the brain child of Kathy Haley who wanted to form a group, not the Ya Ya Sisterhood, but maybe the LA LA Sisterhood. A group of talented professional vocalists to perform for events and various public performances. — Platz Associates Main Stage at Simard Payne Park
