LEWISTON — Police, family and friends have been searching for a missing local teen since Saturday evening.

Alyssa Jasper, 14, left her home in the College Street and Mollison Way area at 5:01 p.m. Saturday, according to home security camera footage.

Jasper is described as white, nearly 5 feet tall, with blond hair and green eyes. She weighs about 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a tan shirt, black shorts, Nike shoes and carrying a fully packed black backpack.

Jasper’s mother, Caitlain Jasper, said Alyssa is adopted and has mental health issues that require medication, which she did not bring with her.

“She’s run away many times before … and she’s been found and returned home previously,” Caitlain Jasper said. “I worry that she’s left the area.”

Lewiston police Lt. Derrick St. Laurent said Alyssa Jasper left home on her own accord and may be with someone she knows.
