AUGUSTA — A day of outdoor skill-building is planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine Outdoors Center, 2273 North Belfast Ave.
Participants can travel from station to station to try new activities and gain some hands-on experience. They can spend time practicing their cast on the pond, hit some targets on the range, get to know the basics of ATV riding, and make something delicious at the wild game cooking station, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
The End of Summer Outdoor Skills Day is a free event; people of all identities and skill levels are welcome. The alliance will provide instructors, hands-on experience, and all the gear needed for each workshop.
This event is for ages 10 and older. All youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
