We only had a handful of correct answers for last week’s Mystery Photo, mostly from our regulars who gave great details about the cupola on the former Dr. Milton Wedgewood House at 101 Pine St. in Lewiston. The building is being rehabbed as part of the Lewiston’s Choice Neighborhood initiative, a nine-unit housing project that will bring 82 rental units to the downtown. Some entrants also mentioned that it was a funeral home before being purchased by a private landlord who turned it into rental property. It sustained a major fire in 2013 that resulted in the building becoming vacant for nearly a decade. In a random drawing from all the correct entries, Roger Martineau of Sabattus was picked as the winner of a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card. When he was notified that he had won, he told us that he recognized the cupola because he spent several hours in it back in 2013 when he was a Lewiston firefighter responding to the blaze.
