In November, Auburn/Minot voters will choose between Republican Laurel Libby and Democrat Dan Campbell for Legislature. As a Democrat, I will vote to reelect Laurel Libby.
I like Dan Campbell and attended a dinner in his honor this year. But he supports Democrat policies I reject.
On July 2, the state Democratic Party issued a website statement reiterating its support for President Biden, despite his evident dementia during the June debate. It stated: “Biden has delivered for Mainers by lowering costs for Maine families …”
Really?
The average weekly wage in Maine in July 2021 was $1,005. Two years later: $1,104, less than 10% higher. At the same time, consumer prices increased by over 12%. Biden increased costs for Mainers.
When Biden took office, the national debt was $21.6 trillion. This June: $34.63 trillion.
Democrats like Campbell thought Biden’s performance warranted the reelection of an obviously impaired president. I don’t want them making decisions for me.
