I encourage registered voters in Auburn, Durham, Poland and New Gloucester to vote for Bettyann Sheats for state Senate.
I met Bettyann almost 15 years ago through volunteer work. Bettyann volunteers a lot in our community.
Bettyann graduated from West Point, the United States Military Academy. She served our country in the Army for eight years. She was a helicopter pilot. She and her husband are both veterans.
We were state House representatives together. During her time in the House, Bettyann was known for cooperating across party lines. She worked to reach a consensus where possible, while prioritizing the best interests of her constituents.
Bettyann previously owned a small business, Finishing Touches Shower Doors. Attention to detail and customer satisfaction were paramount. She and her husband also owned two apartments in the community, helping provide quality housing opportunities.
Bettyann lives her motto: “Listen, Learn, Lead.”
