Harrison poet Lisa Moore reads at 2023’s Poets in the Garden event.

NORWAY — On Friday, at 5:30, September 6, four poets will share their work at an outdoor reading at the Alan Day Community Garden at 26 Whitman Street in Norway. Each poet will read for about 20 minutes. The event is free and open to the public and will happen rain or shine.

Local poets Dennis Camire of West Paris, author of Combed by Crows (2017) and Anthology of Awe and Wonder (2024), Michalene Hague of Otisfield, and Lisa Moore of Harrison will share their words. They will be joined by visiting poet Bill Thibodeau of Boston, author of American Icon, The Watchman, The Fore River, and Sand Shadow (2019).

Pizza, both vegetarian and pepperoni, will be available for a pay-as-you-choose donation, from 5:30 until 6:30. “What rhymes with pizza?” asks the poster. “Poetry!”
