AUGUSTA — Twins Henri and Nora McCourt of Mt. Blue High School in Farmington each took first place in the Scott Lalibertie pre-season cross country meet at Cony High School in Augusta on Friday, Aug. 20.
The Cougars took 3rd place out of 15 teams in the race, which combines the scores of the boys and girls teams. Gorham placed first, with Morse 2nd.
Mt. Blue had the 2nd best boys team overall. In addition to McCourt’s winning result, the Cougars were led by Luke Doscinski (11), Ben Hatch (12), Noah Civiello (17), and Eli Hoeft (19).
The Cougar’s had the 3rd overall girls team. Following McCourt’s top placing for Mt. Blue were Brielle Tinker (23), Astrid Jones (25), Karoline Gonzales (32), and Lucy Knowles (42).
In separate JV competition, Mt. Blue got top 10 finishes from Luka Burns (8th) among boys and Juliette Poussier (7th) for girls.
