LEWISTON – Muriel (Fortin) Violette, 97, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2024 after a long illness.
Muriel was born in Lewiston to the parents of Sarah Olko and Regent Fortin. She married Lionel Violette on June 1, 1947. She was a mother to four children, David, Nancy, Susan, and Ann Violette. She was an active member of Saint Patrick’s church and a member of the choir that was invited to sing at the Vatican, which was a thrill for her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel; son, David, daughter, Nancy, and son-in-law, Stephen Couture.
She is survived by her daughters Susan and Ann; sister, Lorraine; granddaughter, Sarah Couture; and nieces Donna and Elaine; and lifelong friend, Muriel Webber.

Memorial wake at Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston on Sept. 14, at 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral mass at Holy Family Church at 12 p.m.
