McKenzie Boyle, Dirigo, sophomore: Boyle ran both cross country and track as a freshman, and set a personal record of 15:36 in the Mt. Blue Relays 2-mile race Oct. 6. She placed sixth at MVCs, 11th at the Southern Class C regionals and 30th at states.

Grace Drown, Winthrop, junior: Drown earned first-team All-MVC recognition her sophomore and freshman seasons. She placed fifth at the conference championships, then 15th at the Southern Class C regionals and 24th at the state meet. She is a one-season runner who plays basketball in the winter and lacrosse in the spring. She should be in the running for more top finishes in the postseason races.

Enzo Giampaolo, Lewiston, junior: Before an injury ended Giampaolo’s sophomore season early, he set a personal-best 5K time of 16:12.36 at Brunswick. Last Saturday, he won the Medomak Panther Two-Miler, finishing in 10:31.87, which was 18 seconds ahead of second place.

Ben Hatch, Mt. Blue, junior: Hatch set a personal-best record at the Class A state meet last season, finishing in 17:45.97 and placing 51st. At KVACs, he took 25th, and at the Northern Class A regional championship he was 15th. This season, he set a personal record (15:11.25) at the Scot Laliberte Invitational.

Lucas Hutchinson, Oxford Hills, junior: Hutchinson came in first at the KVAC and Northern Maine Class A regional meets last season. He placed ninth at the Class A state championship and 98th at New Englands. He finished first in every regular season meet except one, and set a personal best time at states.

Haley Marston, Leavitt, junior: Marston broke out during the middle of her sophomore season, placing third at KVACs and regionals and fifth at states. She also competed at New Englands. Throughout the season, she cut time and set a personal record every time she raced. She has already won her first race of 2024, the Panther Two-Miler.

Henri McCourt, Mt. Blue, senior: McCourt is coming off a season in which he placed fifth at KVACs, fourth in the Class A Northern regional championships and 11th at the Class A state meet. He also qualified for New Englands. McCourt looks to continue to improve his standings, and started the season by winning the Scot Laliberte Invitational and placing first at the Mt. Blue home meet.

Nora McCourt, Mt. Blue, senior: Last season, McCourt placed fourth in the KVAC Class A meet, ninth in the Class A Northern regional championships and 26th at the Class A state championship meet. She is primed for a dominant senior season, which began with her winning the Scot Laliberte Invitational by a decent margin.

Calvin Vincent, Edward Little, junior: Vincent qualified for the state meet his freshman and sophomore years. Last season, he placed 24th at KVACs, 2oth at the Northern Class A regionals and 83rd at the state meet. This season, his eyes are set on qualifying for New Englands, and to achieve that he has been working on strength, keeping his running form and perfecting his kick. He is also a captain this season.

Cedar Worster, Oxford Hills, junior: As a sophomore, Worster placed 25th at KVACs, 24th at the Northern Class A regionals and 65th at the state meet, at which she ran a 22:40.47 time. She began this season with a personal best 19:25.99 at the Scot Laliberte Invitational.
