LEWISTON — Lauren Cote’s two first-half half goals were all Lewiston needed to defeat Oak Hill 2-1 in a field hockey game Thursday.
Valerie Potvin and Ayanay Holloman each had an assist for Lewiston.
Cote’s two goals were the Blue Devils’ (2-0-1) only shots on goal in the game. The Raiders (2-1) fired seven shots on goal, but Lewiston goalie Sarah Mack stopped each one.
Mack and the Blue Devils have yet to allow a goal this season. Thursday was the first time they’ve scored a goal in regulation.
FREEPORT 7, POLAND 0: Emily Groves netted three goals as the Falcons (3-0) defeated the Knights (2-1) in Poland.
Reed Proscia, Lizalyn Boudreau, Liza Flower and Sophie Bradford were the other goal scorers. Proscia also had an assist.
Poland’s Isabella Billings made 19 saves.
SKOWHEGAN 5, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Faith Pease scored four goals to pace the River Hawks to a road win over the Red Eddies in Auburn.
Elli Quinn also had a goal for Skowhegan (2-0). Goalie Kayori Kenyon stopped four shots.
Sophia Gerry made 16 saves for Edward Little (1-2).
GIRLS SOCCER
MT. BLUE 2, MT. ABRAM 0: The Cougars netted two second-half goals to earn a victory over the Roadrunners in Farmington.
Alaya Smith scored on a penalty kick after Natalee Orr drew a foul. About four minutes later, Orr scored off an assist from Kari Savage.
Mt. Blue (1-2) goalies Destiny Hensley and Ava Davis each made two saves. Jany Pepin stopped four shots for Mt. Abram (1-2).
POLAND 3, WELLS 2: Arianna Gammon scored the go-ahead with nine minutes remaining as the Knights (2-1) defeated the Warriors (2-2) in Wells.
Gammon finished with two goals, both set up by Leski Langevin. Olivia Austin also scored, assisted by Davis Hill.
Wells got goals from Caitlin Shiels and Caitlin Rooney.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3, LEAVITT 2: Hannah Bolduc’s two goals helped the Patriots edge the Hornets in Gray.
Izzy Morelli also scored for Gray-New Gloucester (1-1). Molly Bryant had an assist and Patriots goalie Hailey Carson stopped five shots.
Leavitt’s (2-1) goals were scored by Abigail Sirois and Brooke Boutaugh.
BOYS SOCCER
TELSTAR 3, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: The Rebels claimed their first win of the season against the Phoenix in Bethel.
Cyrus Mills, Matthew Wakefield and Jake Zolad each netted a goal for Telstar (1-1), while Connor Deprey recorded an assist. Goalie Adam Stephenson made three saves.
Wyatt Foss set up Myles Godbey for Spruce Mountain’s (1-2) goal, and Blake Gemelli stopped seven shots.
POLAND 3, WELLS 1: Breck Langevin scored twice as the Knights won their first game of the season in Poland.
Oliver Olson also scored for Poland (1-3), and Cohen Demuth assisted on all three goals. Keeper Elliot Rioux stopped seven shots.
Landon Fifield scored for Wells (0-4), and Josiah Leighton made four saves.
VOLLEYBALL
YARMOUTH 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Norah Lushman and Katie Belesca each had five aces as the Clippers (2-1) handled the visiting Patriots (1-2) in straight sets, 25-14, 25-10, 25-20.
Ella Cameron, Lilli Burrows and Grace Keaney each finished with seven kills, and Drea Rideout made 14 digs for Yarmouth.
