AREA — The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its 45th Annual Dinner and Community Awards Ceremony, set to take place on Thursday, October 3, at the historic Poland Spring Resort. This premier event will run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and promises an evening of celebration, recognition, and community spirit.
We are honored to welcome Boston Bruins legend and two-time Stanley Cup champion Derek “Turk” Sanderson as our keynote speaker. Mr. Sanderson’s storied career and commitment to giving back make him an inspiring figure for this special evening. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with a cash bar, followed by a full buffet dinner and an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding achievements within the Oxford Hills region. The evening will celebrate the following honorees:
- Business of the Year: Wheeler’s Insurance – For excellence in dynamic products or services, contributions to the Oxford Hills region, noteworthy industry achievements, and dedication to the well-being of its employees and associates.
- Employee of the Year: Kari Taylor, Director of Western Maine Addiction Recovery Initiative – Recognized for her outstanding work ethic, cooperative nature among fellow employees, and significant contributions to her organization’s success.
- Rising Star: Oxford Hills Mercantile/Ollie and David’s – An “up and coming” business owner/individual who positively contributes to the vibrancy of Oxford Hills.
- Suzanne Grover Community Service Award: Monica LaVerdiere – For outstanding volunteer community service to the Oxford Hills region over an extended period.
- Legacy Award: H. Sawin Millett, Jr. – State Representative (R-Waterford), teacher, farmer, and public servant for nearly 60 years.
“We look forward to celebrating the achievements of those who make a difference in our community,” said John Williams, Director of the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce. “These individuals and businesses embody the spirit and dedication that make Oxford Hills a wonderful place to live and work.”
