MOUNTAIN VALLEY 42, MARANACOOK 6: The Falcons, coming off a 28-0 loss to Oak Hill in their return to 11-man football last week, made a big statement by roughing up the Black Bears in Readfield.
Adam Gammon scored four touchdowns for Mountain Valley (1-1). Colton Gallant added two touchdowns. Tyler Warren scored two 2-point conversions and Owen Gaudette one.
Maranacook, another team that played 8-man football the past few seasons, falls to 1-1.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 65, SACOPEE VALLEY 26: Quarterback Kobi Conant led a prolific Patriots (1-1) offensive attack in a dominating victory over the Hawks (1-1) in Gray.
Conant completed 11 of 16 passes for 193 yards and five touchdowns. Three of those TD passes were to Kody Tracy in the opening quarter. Conant also ran the ball five times for 73 yards and a pair of scores.
Kody Tracy finished with 141 yards receiving, and all three of his receptions went for touchdowns (24, 65 and 38 yards). He also ran for a 31-yard score. Isaac Ormberg (five receptions, 39 yards) reeled in Contant’s other two TD passes. Cole Prescott and Gideon McCalip each ran for scores, and Noah Farynez finished with 70 yards rushing on four carries.
