WALES — Two second-half goals boosted Dirigo to a 2-0 victory over Oak Hill in a battle of MVC field hockey stalwarts Monday.
Grace Averill set up Alyssa Ellis for the first goal in the third period, then Samantha Searle added an unassisted tally in the fourth.
Cougars (3-0) goalie Kera Reny stopped all six shots she faced, while Oak Hill’s (2-2) Ella Martin made 11 saves on 13 shots.
HALL-DALE/MONMOUTH 4, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1: Mira Skehan and Graces Estes each scored two goals for the Bulldogs in a victory in Farmingdale.
Torie Tibbetts had two assists, while Sidney Keleher had one for Hall-Dale (2-2). Jade Graham made nine saves.
Addison Libby scored the lone goal for the Falcons (0-3). Goalie Isabell Dupuis had 12 saves.
LISBON 4, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Mackenzie Theriault scored two goals off corners to lead the Greyhounds (2-1) past the Hawks (0-2) in Lisbon.
Aubriana Bright and freshman Brynn Chase also scored for Lisbon, and Riley Hoyle had two assists.
Sacopee Valley goalie Lily Kick made four saves.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 9, TELSTAR 0: Aisla Armandi and Ava Davis each scored two goals in the Phoenix’s (3-1) win over the Rebels (0-4) in Jay.
Aaylah Herrera, Grace Cuthbertson and Aaylah Herrera contributed a goal and an assist each for Spruce Mountain. Maddie Grimaldi and Samantha Martin also scored, and Miley Fournier had a team-high two assists.
Mallory Clark stopped one shot in the first quarter for Spruce Mountain, and Kyleigh Marcotte and Layla Ryder also saw time in goal for the Phoenix.
Taejyah Lego stopped nine shots for Telstar.
BOYS SOCCER
BUCKFIELD 4, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 0: Seamus Keough scored a hat trick in the Bucks’ (2-1-1) win over the Phoenix (1-3) in Jay.
Krosby Harvey also scored for Buckfield, and Cayden Durgin made two saves for the shutout.
Blake Gemelli stopped six shots for Spruce Mountain.
GIRLS SOCCER
MARANACOOK 6, MONMOUTH 1: Celia Bergdahl scored two goals and added an assist for the Black Bears in a victory in Readfield.
Phoebe Bell and Caroline Harper each had a goal and assist for Maranacook (3-0-1). Alice Ferren and Evelyn Stevenson each added goals for the Black Bears, while Devyn Eliason had four saves.
Brooke King had nine saves for the Mustangs (1-2-0).
WINTHROP 2, OAK HILL 1: Abby St. Clair and Zion Armstrong scored back-to-back goals in the Ramblers’ win over the Raiders in Winthrop.
St. Clair scored in the 46th minute and Armstrong in the 49th minute.
Their goals came soon after Carlee Austin gave Oak Hill a 1-0 lead in the 45th minute.
BUCKFIELD 6, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 2: Cora Brewster notched a hat trick in the Bucks’ (4-0) win over the Phoenix (0-3) in Jay.
Sophi St. Pierre potted two goals, while Brittany Carrier had a goal and an assist for Buckfield.
Ashley Nelson paced Spruce Mountain with a goal and an assist, and Lillie Hazen also scored.
Bucks goalie Kianna Finnegan stopped seven shots, and Spruce Mountain’s Tyoaka Hodgkin made 12 saves.
