GRAY — Two fourth-quarter goals lifted the Gray-New Gloucester/NYA field hockey team past St. Dominic 3-2 on Tuesday.
Gray-New Gloucester is now 4-0.
The teams were tied 1-1 until Emma Bowden’s goal put the Patriots ahead with 7:03 left in the fourth. Abby Lacombe made it 3-1 with a goal with 5:57 remaining.
St. Dom’s (3-2) answered about a minute later to cut the deficit to one goal, but that was the game’s final goal. Ava Martin and Abigail Labonte scored for the Saints.
Greta Tod scored Gray-NG’s first goal in the opening period. Lydia Trytek, Lacombe and Kenlie Nadeau had assists for the Patriots.
MT. BLUE 3, CAMDEN HILLS 0: Piper Wojcik had a goal and an assist in the Cougars’ road win over the Windjammers in Rockport.
Bree Griffin and Lily Huntley also scored for Mt. Blue (2-0), while Summer Sawyer and Morgan Hersey each had an assist.
Cougars goalie Gwen Lesperance stopped all three shots she faced, and Maddie Fuller made nine saves for Camden Hills (0-3).
BOYS SOCCER
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 5, POLAND 1: Carter Laliberty scored twice as the Patriots won in Poland.
Gavin Deemer, Boje Kautz and Logan Inman also scored for Gray-New Gloucester (3-1). Tristan Cuttler made five saves in goal.
Oliver Olson scored for Poland (1-4), and Eliot Rioux had 10 saves.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 3, LEAVITT 1: Nester Powers converted two penalty kicks in the first half, and James Hanley finished a through ball from George Siegel in the second half as the Eagles (2-2) downed the Hornets (1-3) in Turner.
Jacob Gibbs scored and Vayna Bezhenar made 15 saves for Leavitt.
LEWISTON 5, MT. BLUE 0: Tegra Mbele continued his hot start to the season, scoring twice and assisting on a goal as the Blue Devils defeated the Cougars in Farmington.
Mechi Mbele, Isaac Bellemore and Abdirauf Hersi also scored for Lewiston (4-0), and David Francisco had an assist. Goalie Will Diamond-Stanic made four saves.
Kooper Keller stopped seven shots for Mt. Blue (2-2). Luc Walker and Jaxson Pound made one save each.
WINTHROP 2, MARANACOOK 1: Isaac Breau scored one goal and assisted on the other in the Ramblers’ victory over the Black Bears in Winthrop.
Evan Bilodeau netted Winthrop’s (1-1-1) other goal, and Connor Hachey recorded an assist on Breau’s goal. Goalie Jaxon August made five saves for the Ramblers.
Thatcher Riley scored for Maranacook (0-3). Grant Walters stopped seven shots.
EDWARD LITTLE 1, MT. ARARAT 0: Abdi Mohamoud booted the ball into the goal with 1:05 left in regulation to give the Red Eddies a victory over the Eagles in Auburn.
Joao Santana set up Mohamoud’s game-winner. Edward Little (1-1-1) goalie Max Kimble made five saves.
Mt. Ararat’s (2-2) Brady Yazwinski stopped two shots.
TELSTAR 9, WISCASSET 1: Four Rebels scored two goals apiece in a home win over the Wolverines in Bethel.
Cameron Wright netted the first goal 35 seconds into the match off an assist from Cyrus Mills. Mills set up Wright for the second goal in the 25th minute. Telstar (3-1) added four more goals before halftime.
Mills, Tommy Lapointe and Connor Deprey were the other two-goal scorers for the Rebels. Mason Perks had the other score.
Wiscasset’s (0-4) lone goal was scored by Dylan Rines.
MT. ABRAM 3, OAK HILL 1: Chase Ross’ two goals paced the Roadrunners past the Raiders in Wales.
Walker Wolfe also scored and Ash Rollins had an assist for Mt. Abram (2-1).
Drew Hatala scored Oak Hill’s (1-3) lone goal on a second-half penalty kick.
GIRLS SOCCER
SKOWHEGAN 2, OXFORD HILLS 0: Allie Frey scored both goals to lead the River Hawks to the win in South Paris.
Lauryn Moore assisted on both goals for Skowhegan (3-1-0), and goalie Natalie Cooke made 13 saves.
Maddy Herrick stopped six shots for Oxford Hills (2-1-1).
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, POLAND 1: Hanna Bolduc scored twice as the Patriots won in Poland.
Abby Steele, Ella Kenney, Emma Hamilton and Madilyn Fecteau also scored for Gray-New Gloucester (2-1).
Arianna Gammon scored the only goal for Poland (2-2).
MT. ARARAT 7, EDWARD LITTLE 1: Senior Islah Godo and junior Julianna Allen each scored three goals to lead the Eagles past the Red Eddies in Topsham.
All three of Godo’s goals were scored in the second half. Allen and Emma Berry scored in the first half for Mt. Ararat (4-0), then Allen netted two more in the second.
Violet Vincent scored Edward Little’s (1-2) lone goal.
