Donald Trump claims to have a “concept of a plan” for health care. However, the Project 2025 document written by his associates provides some detail.

It suggests “Remov(ing) barriers to direct primary care … [whereby] doctors contract directly with patients for their care on a subscription basis …”

An insurance-avoiding relationship with people’s doctor’s office sounds pretty good until they realize that that subscription does not include the cost of any follow-up, any needed medications, or any hospital care.

The document also suggests putting lifetime caps on Medicaid benefits, which would mean (for example) that someone in a low-wage job for most of their life (not an uncommon situation) could run out of health care access before they got old.

If this is what Trump means by “better,” and if he has as little care for the health of regular folks as it would seem, it is terrifying.
