BRIDGTON — The Molly Ockett Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, along with the town of Bridgton, celebrated Sept. 14 the opening of the Children’s Book Box with a ribbon cutting ceremony. On hand were NSDAR Treasurer General Sherry Edwards and Selectboard member Carrye Castleman-Ross, who praised the effort and the impact the box will have on families and children.
The box is located on the Bridgton Town Common playground, next to the picnic tables. Molly Ockett Chapter members filled the box with books, and Chapter Regent Nancy Coshow cutt the ribbon to officially open the box. The town provided support and placed the box, Friends of Bridgton Library donated books, and Casco Wholesale Bait built the box, according to a news release from Nancy Coshow with the chapter.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
