State Farm associates recently presented the Auburn-based Good Shepherd Food Bank with a $5,000 check to support hunger relief efforts.
The associates spent an afternoon at Good Shepherd Food Bank’s warehouse in Hampden, where they packaged 326 boxes of donated food for older Mainers.
Good Shepherd is the largest hunger-relief organization in Maine, serving over 140,000 individuals each year. The organization services the entire state and partners with more than 600 hunger-relief agencies where people can access food, including food pantries, meal programs and mobile distributions, according to a State Farm news release.
Last year, Good Shepherd Food Bank distributed 39 million meals.
