LISBON — Riley Hoyle’s first-period penalty stroke goal was all Lisbon needed to claim a 1-0 field hockey victory over Mountain Valley on Monday.
Shots on goal were scarce for both teams, Lisbon (4-3) finishing with three and Mountain Valley (1-5) with one. Greyhounds goalie Sophia Cote stopped the only shot she faced, while Bella Dupuis and Emily Gilbert combined to make two saves for the Falcons.
DIRIGO 6, BOOTHBAY 0: Mackenzie Woods scored two first-half goals, and Alyssa Ellis and Lana Waite assisted on two first-half scores as the Cougars (5-2) roared past the Seahawks (2-5) in Dixfield.
Grace Averill, Emily Woods, Madisyn Bradeen and Zoey Bordeau also scored for Dirigo, while Emily Woods and Layla Merrill had an assist each.
HALL-DALE/MONMOUTH 4, OAK HILL 0: Hannah Rauch scored twice to lead the Hall-Dale/Monmouth past Oak Hill in Wales.
Sidney Keleher and Makayla Norton each added a goal for the Bulldogs (6-3) and Grace Estes chipped in two assists. Jade Graham made 11 saves.
Raiders (2-6) goalie Ella Martin also had 11 saves.
MT. ARARAT 3, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Krystah Coen scored twice in the Eagles’ road win over the Red Eddies in Auburn.
Both of Coen’s goals came in the first quarter. Abigail Tidwell assisted on the first and Rebekah St. Pierre set up the second.
St. Pierre added a goal in the fourth period off an assist by Kamryn Chase.
Mt. Ararat (6-1) goalie Laila Adams made two saves, while Edward Little’s (3-4) Sophia Gerry stopped five shots.
GIRLS SOCCER
TEMPLE 7, TELSTAR 0: Dixie Szabo scored four goals to lead the Bereans to the win in Bethel.
Madelyn Corey added a goal and an assist for Temple (8-0-0), while Karis Louis and Sofia Isgro had the other goals. Karissa DeWitt made one save.
Telstar falls to 1-6-0.
MARANACOOK 7, OAK HILL 0: Phoebe Bell scored three goals as the Black Bears rolled to a victory in Readfield.
Kate Parker, Alice Ferren, Evelyn Stevenson and Celia Bergdahl each added goals for Maranacook (6-0-1).
The Raiders fall to 1-6-1.
BOYS SOCCER
TELSTAR 4, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 0: Cyrus Mills scored a goal and assisted on two others in the Rebels’ road victory over the Phoenix in Bethel.
Telstar (6-2) scored all four of its goals in the first half. Tommy Lapointe netted two of them and Mason Perks had one. Travis Decareau also had an assist, and goalie Adam Stephenson stopped five shots.
Spruce Mountain (2-6) goalie Blake Gemelli finished with 11 saves.
