JAY — The Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Town Office to review shoreland zoning and floodplain zone permit applications for Godfrey OSB Mill.
The meeting was rescheduled from Oct. 1 so mill owner John Godfrey and Main-Land Development Consultants owner Bob Berry could attend.
The mill is expected to be built on a section of the defunct Pixelle Specialty Solutions paper mill at 300 Riley Road.
Godfrey Wood Products announced in March that it plans to manufacture oriented strand board, or OSB, on the site. The company has a purchase and sales agreement for 67 acres owned by JGT2 Redevelopment just south of the main buildings of the former paper mill, according to the application submitted to the Planning Board by Main-Land Development Consultants in Livermore Falls.
The Godfrey property includes the former log yard, small buildings and structures, the former chip pile and a parking lot. These areas will be demolished to make way for the OSB mill.
