Lewiston native Marie (Aliberti) Nichols has published her first book, an illustrated children’s book titled “We’re Going to the Dinosaur Forest.”
According to the book jacket, “‘We’re Going to the Dinosaur Forest’ is a story of fun, adventure, and finding your bravery when you need it the most! Other boys and girls will relate to the characters in this story through their own experiences. Maybe their adventure was through a jungle rather than a forest or maybe they were hunting bears instead of dinosaurs.”
Nichols grew up in Lewiston, graduated from Lewiston High School in 1963, earned degrees at Husson College and Westbrook College, and lived and worked throughout the eastern United States. She currently lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and works remotely as a project manager for SDI Presence headquartered in Chicago.
The story, she says, was inspired by her walks with her grandchildren, who live in Virginia. In her story, “Bracken has been thinking of an adventure to the dinosaur forest in search of his favorite dinosaurs: stegosaurus, triceratops, or tyrannosaurus-rex. A special friend is his grandmother, ‘Gram.’ When Gram comes to visit, he decides to take Gram on a dinosaur hunt. But as they head into the dinosaur forest, they find more than they bargained for.’
Nichols’ book is available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
