NORWAY — The Alan Day Community Garden’s free harvest party is set for 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at 26 Whitman St.
The event will feature a potluck-style dinner; attendees can bring a dish to share. There will also be roasted butternut squash soup made with ingredients from the garden and wood-fired naan.
The party will include an open music jam (people can bring an instrument if they want to join in), a fire pit, yard games and children’s activities.
The “Blooms and Hues in the Garden” art show, featuring works from Lauren Olson, Emma DayBranch and Sarah Kearsley, is set for 2-5 pm.
Parking at the garden is limited; people are asked to park behind the Grange and walk to the garden.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
