On Laurel Libby and Leonard Leo — a Sept. 6 story in the Bangor Daily News outlined the flow of $375,000 from the Federalist Society leader’s Concord Fund down to state Rep. Libby’s “Dinner Table.”
Underneath all the lip service to “freedom,” here are Libby’s real interests: ending reproductive rights for Maine women and overturning vaccination regulations.
Although Libby would like to end access to abortion through government action, ironically, when it comes to vaccination, she stated in public testimony in 2019 that she didn’t “want the government anywhere near my medical decisions.”
She’s also heavily involved in the voter ID movement, a solution without a problem, because Maine citizens already must show proof of identification and residency when they register to vote.
People can be sure that Leonard Leo has zero interest in what’s going on around Maine dinner tables. And Maine District 90 can have better representation in Augusta than this.
