Rep. Kristen Cloutier creates results for Lewiston and all of Maine.
In order to help victims and survivors of the Oct. 25 mass shooting in Lewiston, Kristen helped to pass the Maine Mass Violence Care Fund — a landmark legislative achievement.
In other states, funding for victims of mass violence has slowly dried up as headlines dissipate. Kristen helped ensure Maine won’t allow this to happen. Through Kirsten’s work with the Appropriations Committee, governor’s office, and advocates for mass violence victims, a one-time $5 million investment in the MMVCF was funded by the Legislature. Maine became the second state to create such a fund.
The MMVCF endowment can pay eligible physical and mental health out-of-pocket expenses not covered by insurance for the victims and families of the Lewiston tragedy, along with any future victims of mass violence in Maine.
I proudly support Kristen’s responsive leadership for reelection to the Maine House.
