MONMOUTH — Bryce Fletcher’s second-half goal lifted the Monmouth Academy boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory over North Yarmouth Academy on Friday.
Fletcher was assisted by Sam Schultz, who played a ball into the goal area where Fletcher found an opening and found the back of the net.
Lewis Lamoreau made seven saves in goal for Monmouth Academy (8-2), which held advantages in shots (15-7) and corners (7-1).
Gavin Thomas stopped 14 shots for NYA (6-2-1).
WINTHROP 1, BUCKFIELD 0: Connor Hachey’s goal with 3 seconds remaining in the first overtime sent the Ramblers to victory in Winthrop.
Keenan Libby had the assist for Winthrop (3-4-2), Jaxon August made four saves in goal.
Neil Haylock stopped 14 shots for Buckfield (3-4-2).
GIRLS SOCCER
BUCKFIELD 4, WINTHROP 1: Brittany Carrier scored three goals to pace the Bucks in Buckfield.
Cora Brewster added a goal and an assist and Chloee Bennett, and Kai Trenoweth each assisted on one goal for Buckfield (9-1). Trenoweth started at goalie and stopped three shots before Kianna Finnegan took over in net and made 10 saves.
Zion Armstrong scored Winthrop’s (3-4) goal off an assist from Abby St. Clair.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 8, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Delphine Daniel scored twice and six others added a goal apiece for the Panthers (8-2) in a win over the Mustangs (5-4) in Yarmouth.
Lyla Casey and Natasha Godfrey each finished with a goal and an assist. Caroline Matusovich, Ella Giguere, Sadie Swenson and Alicia Fontana also scored. Giguere’s goal was directly off a corner kick.
