The Prince of Peace Parish of Lewiston held a Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis of Assisi on Oct. 5. St. Francis was a Catholic Friar who founded the order of Franciscans. He was known for his patronage of animals and the environment. Fr. Michael Sivigny, a Franciscan priest, held the blessing in front of Holy Family church on Sabattus Street.
