I write in support of Sen. Peggy Rotundo. She truly cares about the people of Lewiston.
Peggy supports Maine schools. She ensured the legally required 55% state funding of public education, with Lewiston receiving the highest amount.
Additionally, she provided the opportunity for high school graduates from the classes of 2024 and 2025 to receive free community college tuition. Peggy also supports strengthening our workforce through apprenticeship programs and job training opportunities.
Peggy recognizes the importance of supporting older Mainers. She worked hard to save the Medicare Savings Program and advocated to secure funding for affordable elderly housing, ensuring that our seniors have safe and accessible places to live.
Furthermore, Peggy has been a leader in mental health advocacy. She fought to save St. Mary’s behavioral health program and ensured enormous investments in mental health services across Maine.
We need leaders like Peggy who stand up for everyone in our community.
