LEWISTON — Lewiston High School Principal Jon Radtke notified parents and staff Tuesday afternoon of a shooting threat left on a bathroom wall.
Radtke said the written note read, “I will shoot the school up 10/15/2024.”
“Thank you to the students who reported the threat,” Radtke wrote in the email notification. “If you or your student knows anything about who may have posted the threat, please reach out to one of the Assistant Principals. We will continue to work with law enforcement to investigate this incident and ensure everyone’s safety at Lewiston High School.”
Neither Radtke nor Lewiston Public Schools Superintendent Jake Langlais were immediately available for comment Wednesday afternoon.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
