The recent Off-Broadway hit “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors,” starring Jessica DiGiovanni as Lucy Westfeldt and Luke Sholl as Dracula, opens at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at The Public Theatre in Lewiston. Imagine the story of Dracula blended with Mel Brooks, Monty Python and The Carol Burnett Show. Five actors sink their teeth into dozens of characters in this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud version of the literary classic perfect for audiences of all blood types. The production is directed by Janet Mitchko, artistic director of The Public Theatre. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays; at 3 p.m. on Saturdays; and at 2 p.m. on Sundays; with an additional evening show at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. A wine tasting will precede the performance on Thursday, Oct 17, and a pre-show beer sampling will be held at the evening performance on Saturday, Oct 19. Tickets are $35 Adults, $20 (ages 19-35), $15 (18 and under). Group rates (10+) are available. Tickets can be purchased online at thepublictheatre.org or by calling 207-782-3200.
