U.S. immigration policies are the focus of considerable debate in the upcoming presidential election.

During the Trump administration thousands of child emigres (including infants and very young children) were treated in cruel and inhumane ways due to administration policies that separated them from their families. Many children still have not been located and/or reunited with their families.

Those responsible for these dangerous policies should have, at a minimum, been dismissed from their positions. Instead, those in key positions remained, and Donald Trump now seeks reelection to the office of president.

With the upcoming election we have an opportunity to send a message that we expect government to administer an effective/efficient system of immigration designed with basic principles of humane treatment woven into the fabric.

Those who agree that disregard for humane policy is not acceptable should not cast their vote for Donald Trump or any other candidate who finds it acceptable.
