Jared Goulette, aka “The Color Wizard,” paints a mural Oct. 17 on a wall of the Consolidated Communications building facing the municipal parking lot next to 66 Ash St. in Lewiston. Before beginning, Goulette painted the wall white and added a doodle grid seen at bottom left. The doodles are an underlying layer that guides the scale and location of each aspect of the preliminary mural design. In the spring, Goulette painted another set of eyes on the other side of the building. A much larger wall to the left of the mural above is to be painted this spring, with “a colorful, abstract homage to the industrial history of Lewiston,” according to Goulette. See www.theColorWizard.com for more of Goulette’s artwork. Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal
