According to the Maine Business Journal, in 2024 Maine has the highest property tax burden in the U.S., with Androscoggin County topping the list within the state. Maine’s overall tax burden is 10.74% of personal income, the fourth highest nationwide — only New York, Hawaii, and Vermont are higher.
Maine’s taxes are even greater than California’s. Why are we paying more than residents of California?
This election, I’m voting to reelect Rep. Laurel Libby. She believes in letting people keep more of their hard-earned money, rather than continuing to raise taxes and spending.
Laurel has consistently advocated for responsible fiscal policies that prioritize taxpayers’ needs and make it easier for families to thrive. She has also worked hard to ensure that small businesses and middle-class families aren’t left behind, and that the American dream is achievable once more.
I hope people join me in voting to reelect Rep. Laurel Libby.
