WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society plans to host its November program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Wilkins Community House, 19 Plummer Hill Road.
This annual veterans program will be hosted by local U.S. Army veteran and society Trustee Ted Gerber, with commentary by well-known historian Nancy Marcotte.
The program will focus upon two veteran cousins, Ronald St. John and Rodney “Rocky” Bonney, who died in service to their country and community. They were sons of twin sisters from South Waterford, and appear on the honor wall in Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. In addition, the stories and experiences of other local veterans will be shared, according to a news release from Andrew H. Dabczynski, Ph.D., president, Waterford Historical Society.
The event is the final program of the year in an annual series organized by the Waterford Historical Society. The veterans program is free, and the public is invited to attend.
A complete schedule of events and information about the society are available at waterfordme.org, or on the Waterford Maine Historical Society page on Facebook.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
