DEAR SUN SPOTS: We’re excited to announce our next Pause For Pets Craft & Vendor Fair to benefit our community’s pets and the life-saving work of the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society. Make sure to join in the fun at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year we will feature our largest lineup ever of exhibitors offering a wide variety of items for the whole family, including your favorite furry friends. Healthy Androscoggin will join us, plus we’ll have face painting and our famous GAHS raffles. Tickets can be purchased to win prizes donated by our exhibitors, and 50/50 raffle will be held. There will also be a free door prize drawing for all attendees.
Volunteers and staff will be on hand to offer information about the shelter’s programs and services, and it’s the perfect time to ask about getting involved with the shelter yourself. The GAHS info table will also feature an assortment of shelter swag to help show your support for the work we do.
We will be collecting physical donations to support animals in care and for our Pet Pantry. The biggest needs are cat food, litter, bleach, paper towels, high-efficiency laundry detergent, soft pet treats, and training treats for dogs.
Admission is free and the building is handicapped accessible. Plenty of parking is available. Unfortunately, privately owned pets are not permitted. — Shannon, Community Engagement Specialist, Greater Androscoggin Humane Society
ANSWER: This is a very special event and I want to commend all those who are participating in making it happen. Here is a fabulous opportunity to learn more about GAHS, sign up to volunteer, and donate items needed to keep animals safe, comfortable and happy. Gathering for a few hours with like-minded people who care about our animal population sounds like a worthwhile way to spend a Sunday. See you there!
