LEWISTON — Peter Geiger says he has 8,620 king-size candy bars to give out tonight at the headquarters for Geiger and Farmers’ Almanac.

Usually Geiger gives out three of the larger than usual candy bars to trick-or-treaters who know the not-so-secret password. But he announced this morning that saying “kindness counts” is worth four candy bars. Those who don’t know the password can find out from a friendly creature at the site.

Geiger promises to give away one candy bar to anyone who doesn’t give the password.

The Halloween party will start at 4:30 p.m. at 70 Mount Hope Ave. in Lewiston. It will continue until 8:30 p.m.
