WINTHROP — Winthrop Chamber is set to host a breakfast meeting with Bill Card at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Winthrop Commerce Center conference room, 149 Main St. Doors open at 7:15 a.m.

Card plans to present a talk on “What do I want my business to do for me?”

Card is an economic development specialist with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Maine District Office. He has been with the agency for 14 years, focusing on creating high-visibility SBA events and developing and delivering trainings and workshops to small businesses in Maine. Prior to joining the SBA, he was a regional manager for U.S. Sen. Susan M. Collins for nine years, where he was responsible for creating and facilitating economic development projects in Coastal and Central Maine. Prior to joining Collins’s staff, he started and ran his own small business, Title Checks Inc., for 15 years, according to a news release from Linda Easterbrooks with the chamber.

Card is a 1984 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Southern New Hampshire University. He lives in Bristol with his wife Jennifer, and their two boys, Liam and Owen.
