DEAR SUN SPOTS: Last January, a letter was submitted to Sun Spots by Fairbanks Union Church requesting Christmas items that people were no longer using and wanted to give to a good cause.
We had an overwhelming response from people from Sun Spots Land! Because of the wonderful donations, the church, located at 583 Fairbanks Road in Farmington will again be offering the Christmas Decorations Sale. The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be three rooms full of all Christmas items. And again this year there will be a table of new and gently used items for gifting. We will gladly accept more donations. For more information, call Celia at 778-2420 or Cindy at 491-4017. — Cindy, Farmington

DEAR SUN SPOTS: West Auburn Congregational Church at 811 West Auburn Road in Auburn is holding a Harvest Supper on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 4:30-6 p.m.
Turkey, ham, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, carrots, corn, rolls, beverages, and dessert will be on the menu. The price is $13 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 14, and free for children aged 3 and younger. — Jenny, Auburn

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Women’s Sumner Fire Department Auxiliary will holding its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Sumner Fire Department (Route 219), on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 4-7 p.m., with a storm date of Dec. 8.
Soup and stew will be served along with free hot cocoa and cookies.
Children will be greeted by Santa. There will be Christmas bulbs for sale for $5 to remember our loved ones, with the names being read at 6 p.m.
