LIVERMORE FALLS – On a very warm Oct. 31, the town held the last of their Halloween activities. While few trick or treaters went from door to door, many lined up at the Livermore Falls Gazebo and the First Baptist Church for trunk or treats.

This is the third year that the trunk or treat has taken place at the gazebo. The event was originally started by Livermore Falls Town Clerk Doris Austin. Over the past two years it has also been run by Amanda Lee. Lee said that there were over 300 kids in attendance this year, which was a first. Austin reported that the first year there were about 150 kids, and around 240 the second year. “More and more businesses are getting involved, which is nice,” said Austin.

The First Baptist Church also held a small trunk or treat on the side of Church Street. Ricky Merrill, a member of the church and participant in the event said that the event has been running for four to five years now. He said

that the event used to be indoors, but that trunk or treat became “all the rage,”

encouraging them to transform the event into a trunk or treat. Merrill also shared that they started with only four or five cars in the beginning, and this year they had eight cars participating.
