AUBURN — The write-in candidates who ran for two open seats on the Androscoggin County Commission will have to wait at least another day before they learn the results of Tuesday’s election.
In District 6, which includes Poland, Mechanic Falls and a section of Auburn, Democrat Jane Pentheny of Poland leads Auburn Republican Katharyn Cormier 113-35, with Auburn’s results incomplete. According to Pentheny, those ballots will be counted Thursday.
In Poland, Pentheny received 100 votes, compared to Cormier’s 28. Pentheny’s winning margin was tighter in Mechanic Falls, 13-7.
No election results were available in Lewiston’s District 1 between Democrats Thomas Shannon and Shukri Abdirahman. According to Lewiston Director of Marketing and Communications Angelynne Amores, those votes have yet to be counted. She had no information on when those totals would be released.
In District 4, incumbent Republican Garrett Mason of Lisbon was reelected with no opposition. District 4 includes Lisbon, Sabattus and Wales.
