LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Veterans Council is set to host a Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in Veterans Memorial Park, 2 Main St.
The council will unveil the 35th memorial stone unveiling. This presentation includes three who served during World War I, 19 who served World War II, six women veterans and three from the Civil War.
Company A, 3rd Maine Infantry, will provide Civil War battle reenactments; the community is invited to attend.
In observance of Veterans Day, municipal offices will be closed, including City Hall and the solid waste facility at 420 River Road. Trash and recyclables will be picked up as usual, and online services may be accessed 24/7 at lewistonmaine.gov. Emergency personnel will also be available.
