DIXFIELD — Authorities have arrested a 60-year-old Dixfield man wanted in New Hampshire on a charge of aggravated felonious sexual assault since June.
David Ryan was wanted by Manchester, New Hampshire, police, who sought an arrest warrant for him on the charge back in June.
He was arrested Thursday and taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris, according to a corrections officer, who said Ryan was in a Cumberland County court Friday afternoon. His address was listed as 10 Mill St. in Dixfield, the officer said.
According to a statement from the U.S. Marshals Service and Maine Violent Offender Task Force, an investigation by the Marshals Service and New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force learned Ryan was residing in Maine. With more work with the Maine Violent Offender Task Force, Ryan was located in Dixfield and safely apprehended at a residence there.
He was charged as a fugitive from justice and is pending extradition back to New Hampshire, according to the statement.
The statement gave no more details on the charge.
