Happy Veterans Day to all of you who have served our country in the armed forces. We appreciate the sacrifices you have made on behalf of all of us. Thanks for helping to keep this a free nation.

And Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much to celebrate at this time of year! While Rangeley is officially in one of its “shoulder seasons”, there are still things happening at the library, like our monthly adult book groups (see details below). While we are in this slower time of year when our businesses take a bit of a breather between fall leaf peeping and the start of snow sports, it might be the perfect time to check out one of our book groups.

You don’t have to commit to being here every month. Instead, you can just pick up a book and join the conversation when you have a little free time. Both our fiction group and our nonfiction group love to have new people join them and add new perspectives to the conversation.

Would You Be Interested in a Book Group on Consciousness?

A Rangeley Public Library patron has approached us about hosting a book group on the theme of consciousness. She would like to discuss books such as The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav. If you also have an interest and would like to be part of a book group on this topic, please let us know.

The Rangeley Public Library has purchased a pass to the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum in Bethel. The pass allows four people over the age of 12 free access to the museum for a day. (Children 12 and under are always free.) Sign up at the library for the day of your choice. The museum is open every day except Tuesdays. Visit the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum website to learn more about this interesting Maine attraction and start planning your visit today!
