Donald Trump did win the election and will become our 47th president of the United States; now let’s see what he does with it.
Trump will be the commander-in-chief and should be expected to accept all responsibilities of that position and his actions. And this begs the questions of will he, once again, blame a previous administration for his failings? Will his supporters again believe that no matter what doesn’t get better cannot be Trump’s fault?
Trump’s supporters claimed higher fuel prices, economy and border issues all exist because of Joe Biden. Well, by logic, if Biden took Trump’s great economy in 2020 and ruined it — then Trump should be able to fix it and make everything wonderful. So again, it will be Trump at the helm, and it will be his decisions or actions on which of those issues will be fixed. If not, is it Biden’s fault?
True leadership is accepting praise for the good things and taking responsibility for the bad. He’s the ship’s captain, top dog, the Big Kahuna, the Man — which means it is his shoulders which should bear the weight of the consequences on his shoulders alone. Nobody else’s name should be relevant, should they? They don’t receive praise, do they?
Will we have more drama? Who knows, but I hope not. For those who believe we need that drama to keep us aware of all the conspiracies, let’s be careful of what we wish for — we may not like the ending.
