PHILLIPS — Voters will be asked Wednesday whether to transfer $75,000 from the undesignated fund to the Fire Department equipment account to buy used fire engine.
The meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Phillips Elementary School.
If approved by voters and the Select Board, the $75,000 and money from the Fire Department account will pay for the purchase, Fire Chief Sean Allen said.
Phillips Engine 10 has been out of service since Nov. 1 because of the rusted frame and subframe and is no longer serviceable, he said.
Tanker 14 is now the primary pumper but it is not suitable for that long-term use, he said.
The department would like to purchase a 2004 Ferrara engine.
