DEAR SUN SPOTS: We’re thinking about Christmas here and have hundreds of C9 bulbs on a dozen strings, mostly brand new in the boxes. There are a few C4s too. These are not LEDs, but are old-school. The C9 bulbs are the big ones and C4 are the smaller ones. Contact me at 824-2759—Joe, Bethel
ANSWER: I believe that the C4 size bulbs are a little bigger than mini lights, if anyone is wondering. I’m sure you’ll get calls about this, Joe! Thank you for your generosity.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club of Norway/South Paris will hold a free community event at American Legion Post 72, 12 Church St. in South Paris on Sunday, December 1, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. See what fun contra, line and square dancing can be!
We’ll introduce you to all those dances plus feed you ice cream and other goodies! Please bring new, unwrapped toys and stuffies for our donation to Christmas for Kids and come join the fun. Donations will be accepted. Please call Liz Hamilton at 415-8199 for more information.—No name, South Paris
DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are always so helpful with all the requests you get, I am hoping you can help me again.
My husband loves what is called “green ketchup” and puts it on his beans. His mom made it with green tomatoes, onions, and spices, but now she has passed away and I can’t find this condiment anywhere. Any help with finding a local supplier would be great.—Mary, Greene
ANSWER: Are you talking about the French-Canadian green relish? If so, I can get a recipe to you. But I bet if you go to some of the holiday craft fairs being featured lately in this column, you will find some! Also try farmers’ markets and mom-and-pop-type stores that sell homemade goodies.
Readers, if you have any “green ketchup” you’d be willing to share, please let me know and I’ll get a message to Mary.
